SFMS brings ashore what the onboard equipment measures. The vessel’s PLCs publish their variables to a node installed on board; that node forwards them to the platform when there is a link and stores them when there is not. Ashore, the owner and the technical office consult it from a browser, with nothing to install and from anywhere.
What you see is the whole vessel and not a single quantity. The complete fuel cycle: bunkering measured by flowmeter, tank levels, daily and instantaneous consumption. Propulsion: engine, shaft torque and power, propeller pitch. Loading and stability: drafts, trim and heel. And the preservation of the catch in the cold-storage holds.
Everything is recorded and everything can be looked at again. The series explorer cross-checks any variable of any vessel over the time range you choose, so a suspicion is settled on the spot instead of turning into a data request. And each organisation sees only its own fleet, with four permission levels that separate what the bridge consults from what the office manages.
Benefits
The whole fleet on one screen
Where every vessel is, what it is doing and how its consumption is running, without calling the bridge or waiting for the next day's report.
Fuel you can account for
The full cycle measured: what goes in at bunkering, what is left in the tanks and what the engine burns. That is where the differences nobody could explain show up.
No link, no data lost
The vessel keeps recording with the satellite down and brings the cloud up to date once it is back. The connection is needed to consult, not to measure.
Compare without requesting a report
The technical office cross-checks the variables it needs when it needs them, instead of ordering a data extract and waiting for it.
Everyone sees their own
Permissions per person and per organisation, with signed access and expiring sessions. Anyone managing several fleets switches between them without signing in again.
Nothing to install
Access from a browser on a phone, a laptop or the bridge itself. There is no client to maintain and no version to update on board.
