WEFISS

Today the weight of the catch is written down by hand, estimated, or only known days later at the fish market. That is where the errors, the arguments and the decisions taken blind come from, throughout a trip that is precisely when something could still be done about it.

WEFISS settles it on deck and as it happens, in three steps. Open the set on the tablet and pick the species. Hang the brailer from the load cell and the weight arrives by radio on its own, with nobody typing anything. Close the set and the time, the position and the total are recorded. Bring the tablet up to the bridge and everything is transferred to the vessel’s computer.

It is weighed below and consulted above, and the log cannot be altered from the computer: there is a single source of truth, and it is the one taken on deck. The kit is supplied complete: load cell with radio transmitter, receiver for the tablet, the WEFISS app and the vessel computer’s program.

Benefits

  • Know what is aboard before reaching port

The skipper sees the trip total and the detail of every set on screen, instead of finding out days later at the market.

  • No more writing it down

Nobody types a weight or scribbles in a soaked notebook. What the scale reads is what gets recorded, with no intermediate step to lose figures in.

  • The trip does not depend on the link

Everything is stored on the tablet itself. At sea, in the rain and with no internet, the log keeps growing all the same.

  • Reliable figures for every vessel

The owner compares trips and vessels on measured numbers, not estimates, and stops deciding on whatever each person remembers.

  • Anticipate supply

Cooperatives and traders know what is coming, and how much, before the vessel berths.

  • The same figure on deck and on the bridge

It is weighed below and consulted above, with nobody copying anything from one place to another.
